Oakham Castle is an exceptionally fine Norman Great Hall of a 12th Century fortified manor house. It has a unique display of horseshoes presented by peers and royalty to the Lord of the Manor.
BELVOIR CASTLE
Belvoir Castle, home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, is situated overlooking the Vale of Belvoir. The house has magnificent staterooms, containing notable pictures, tapestries and fine furniture. The Queens Royal Lancers Museum is also situated within the castle. The house has been used as a location for a number of films and television programmes.
